Linda Ohran Soderquist

I graduated from college in French and Humanities but I started a family even before graduation. It was an active household. The youngest is mentally handicapped. Having him in the family is a great experience for all of us.

I have been thinking a lot about people that I once knew. I didn't realize that we would suddenly be taken by the wind after graduation. I moved to Utah almost immediately afterward and didn't ever move back.

I lived in Utah for most of my adult life except for four years in Denver. I visited South America and Europe and lived in the Philippines for 18 months.

I have never been very good at planning, so thanks for asking. I would like to do more traveling and more writing. I do a lot of family history research so I will probably continue that and I would like to visit ancestral areas --Denmark, Sweden, and the UK.

Tennis, writing, reading, gardening, house remodeling, children and grandchildren, of course. I like puzzling things out. I've gone through a Words with Friends phase, a Sudoku phase. I have a maladjusted little rescue dog, a Shiz tzu, named Skip.

I hope that you have all made it through the last 50 years and gathered wisdom along the way. I hope that I have learned to be nicer and more patient than I am naturally. I am grateful for the life I am living but am curious about the roads not travelled, the roads other people took.

I have learned the most from my handicapped son Alex. He teaches to to celebrate and appreciate the smallest accomplishments. My friend's daughter who was born the same year graduated from law school and works in a New York firm, while Alex has recently learned to ride in an Uber taxi by himself. It was a great day when he did.
