After serving in VietNam I came back to the US where I did graduate school in education at Stanford. Then I moved to France. I did more graduate work completing all but a dissertation for a doctorate in music. More important to me at the time was my work at the conservatory trying to become a conductor. I ended up at the Conservatory of Toulon where I got artist diplomas in trumpet, conducting and, of all things, acting.

When I returned to the states I was sort of lost for a while. Despite my diplomas, I was not really good enough to earn much of a living as a musician. Eventually, somewhat by a fluke, I ended up back in graduate school to become a psychologist. I'm a much better psychologist than I ever was a musician.

I've lived in Davis for the past 30 years. I was faculty in a Family Practice Residency Program for nearly a decade. It was during that time that I did the Post-Doctoral Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology. I have been active ever since to get prescriptive authority for specially trained psychologists. I was on the board of the state psychological association and was president of the regional psychological association.

Coming out as gay in about 1978, I've never married and never had children, and survived the epidemic. A great many of my friends did not. I had a few relationships along the way but none nearly as good as the one I have now. My partner Richard is an Associate Professor at UC Davis where he does toxicology research. Originally from Argentina, he was educated in England and came to this country 9 years ago.

Internet entrepreneur; www.GayHopper.com I started a website where members of the LGBT community can stay with each other for free when traveling.

School Story

Fond memories of playing in the band, trumpet, and orchestra, cello.

Places you have visited

I lived in France and for a year in VietNam. I have visited Japan, all of the western European countries and Russia, Mexico, Costa Rica.

Your plans for the next 10 years

While many of us are retiring, I feel like I'm just getting started. I love my work as a psychologist and have found new energy as an internet entrepreneur. My partner is 20 years younger than I and we are well matched for energy and vision. We love to travel and look for cleaver ways to do more of that.

Hobbies & interests

I sing with the Vocal Art Ensemble. We have toured in Ireland, England, Scotland and this year in the Eastern US. Love to travel.

Jere and I had known each other in elementary and Jr. Hi.  We got to know each other well in high school.  We had English just before lunch and then I'd take him out and help him eat.  We had a small group of friends who would meet daily for lunch.  Jere got a cold and his system was so weak that he died.  I was one of his pallbearaers.

I saw Jere's mother after his brother died.  She worked so hard to give her sons as much life as they could have.  She looked years younger without the stress and she was happy, though sad to have lost her sons.

It is good to have Jere remembered as part of our class.

Life on the Willamette looks good. It has been years since we last ran into each other. I hope you are doing well.

One wonders what you are competing with your dogs for. Might it be space in bed?
Please share some of your art work.
