Doug died of a massive heart attack on December 15, 2005 at the age of 57. He and I were best of friends throughout high school and college. Doug's passion was Cutting Horses. He learned how to ride horses from his father and grandfather on his grandfather's ranch in Oregon. Doug was twice Champion Cutter at the Cow Palace National Horse Show, and was an active member in many riding affiliated organizations in the Bay Area.
Doug was a good person, and I was always proud to call him my friend.
